I have an 2106 f150 xl do I need a brake controller to pull & break an Rp 178

Yes. The F150 should have the wiring in place, but you still need a controller. I use the Hopkins InSIGHT flex-mount controller. Others use the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 controller. Check out controllers on etrailer.com.

Make sure your dealer gives you a really good walk thru, I suggest trying to video thing the the a/c operation as the tech explains it, same with the dome set up and any other instruction. You will get hit with all kinds of info at once and if you are like me will forget a lot when you head out on your first trip.

Also, when you do pick it up, take the time to read the manuals. There will be information in them that just isn't covered in a walk-through.
