When we try to use the fridge on gas it's beeping. It sounds like it's trying to lite. The gas stove is working fine and the propne is in. Any ideas?

Suggestions:

1. Take the outside vent cover off and look to make sure nothing is blocking the burner area (wasp nests caused problems with ours when brand new).

2. Make sure gas lines are purged. For this, you can light the stove and make sure it burns with a steady flame.

3. Even when #2 is done, there may still be some air in the line leading to the refrigerator. It may take several tries for the remaining air to be purged and for it to light and burn steadily.

4. If it does light, observe the flame. Is it burning cleanly? Is there any flame shooting backward toward the regulator? If so, then something is blocking the flue (again, wasps are a suspect here). If it is not lighting after several attempts, then it is probably time to consult your dealer's service department to diagnose why it is not working.

I just had the same problem after putting on a new, full tank of propane.  Took me a while to figure out that I'd forgotten to open the valve on the propane bottle.  You're probably smarter than that, but I hope your solution is as simple.

Haha I think we got it figured Out. I don't know exactly how, but after some extra random attention it started working. Maybe since we hadn't used it before there was just too much air in the lines. Thank you for your responses and ideas!

For future consideration: Open the gas valve slowly on the tank. If you open it too fast, it thinks there's a leak and it shuts off. This just happened to me when I was anxious to get everything tested. The solution was to close the valve, find something else to do for  few minutes and open it very slowly. Doug has an interesting technique he might want to reshare.

Counting to 30 while you turn the valve?  The hot water method for determining the fuel level?  Doing the hokey-pokey while you turn yourself around?
