Hopefully they stop doing that for future customers.

Thanks everyone for the helpful input. We plan to purchase the Fastaway E2 as several have suggested.  We picked up the trailer yesterday and are very happy with it.  The dealer backed off on insistence we have to install WD system before leaving the lot. In fact, we didn't get any more hard sell during the walk through and closing process. Maybe they're following this forum... If so, we appreciate the service yesterday.

This reminds me of when I did my walk through. I mentioned to the service guy that my salesman had said the sewer hose would be included (when I noticed it wasn't there.) He said "that guy lies all the time!" and then proceeded to get a cart and filled it with every item on their "new campers" buying list and said "here, it's all free." It was over $300 worth of stuff. We didn't argue, but clearly the sales and service guys sometimes don't get along!

That's pretty strong for Doug. Wink

This dealer is just like dealers that push warranty policies for $2k-3k that should be $1k with dealer markup.  Ticks me off! Angry

Ok, deep breath.  All good now.  Embarrassed

That is basically the difference between a good dealer and a bad one. Even if a good dealer does a little bit of "upsell", they would never make such ridiculous claims or try to sell you something that costs twice what you really need. The internet age will take care of that, enough bad word eventually gets around and then people will spend their money somewhere else.

I have heard it said before they are trying to steal your money, sorry to say I think this would apply to the dealer mentioned.

Just avoid the temptation to go higher than a 6,000Lb unit, it will only make the ride too stiff.

Agreed.
