I had the same problem when my E2 arrived, I was worried parts would be missing.  I don't think the instructions were bad.

Installation of the E2 is very easy. With only one propane tank you will have no trouble positioning the brackets properly. Use a torque wrench to insure proper installation. When you start to adjust it keep in mind:

  1. The length of the brackets should be set so that the spring bars are parallel to the frame. This allows proper sliding action of the spring bars for sway control. If you need to adjust the spring bar tension it should be done by adding/subtracting washers, maintaining the bars parallel to the frame. For fine tuning try a stainless steel washer which is generally half the thickness of a cut steel washer. A pain, but necessary.
  2. Measure the TV drop at the wheel wells and only try to recover half the original drop. Do not attempt to recover all the drop.
  3. Finally, adjust he position of the head on the shank to level the trailer. The trailer should tow level or slightly nose down.

Thanks for the replies. After reading the instructions a couple times I am feeling pretty good. Borowed some tools to get the ball torqued down and will try the install in stages this weekend.

So here is the results of the install...... I am pretty happy with the results. The instructions were overly complicated but the adjustability built into the system will give me some options if it doesn't tow as expected. I was worried about the safety chains being to short with these stinger length but it appears to be fine. We are headed up the beautiful Columbia River Gorge from Portland to Arlington to see my folks this weekend so it should be a good test run. I am secretly hoping for some wind (which isn't a stretch) in the Gorge to really get a feel for it.

So our first trip was a success. We encountered some massive headwinds (40+ mph!!)on the way back thru "the Gorge" but the Pod handled great. I won't tow without a WDH ever again! I am gonna make some small adjustments to the angle of the Pod tongue to tip it down ever so slightly but over all am very happy. I don't understand why anyone with a "marginal" TV would ever consider not having a WDH. I am a "worst case scenario" kinda guy so I always am gonna think about the windstorm we went through this weekend
