Thanks for the link.  It really makes it easy to find places near where we live.

I lived in N. Cal.  That's some the best camping I've ever done in my life. I can't wait to take my family back. Year round camping is unbeatable. I sure do miss that.

Don't leave the pod behind, Storage may be expensive in the LA area, but it's worth the cost compared to the enjoyment you'll have camping within 200mile radius of LA.

I don't know about storage options, but you'll be able to camp year-round from LA.  We live in San Diego, about 100 miles south of LA, and camp in the local deserts during the late fall thru early spring time periods.  Check out http://ultimatecampgrounds.com/uc3/index.php/products/full-map for a list of campgrounds near LA.

I will soon be moving from Alaska to the Los Angeles area.  We are deciding whether to bring our rPod with us when we move and would like information about campgrounds and storage options where we could keep our camper and pick up on weekends to go camping.
