when I see the motor home, campers, trailers , etc pouring in here I just sigh and think I use to do that. Then I go busy and found where I could still go with all furnished except linens and food.

Easier getting there, less fuel, fewer things to pack/unpack/clean.  Some advantages.

We pull our 2011 177 pod with our 2007 3.7 L (5 cyl) Colorado with a Primus Brake Controller and an add on tranny cooler. (Xtra cab). It does a pretty good job as is towing at our usual max speed of 60 mph. If you're not running around the mountains is does a decent job and there are a fair number of 5 cyl Colorados floating around. (just try to find a v8)

Tow rating is 4500 lb (?)
HP is about 242
Torque is about 242
Fuel mileage commuting 20 miles to work is usually 19.5 but I have made 20.5 (for only one more week)Smile
Fuel mileage towing is 9-11 mpg.
Hp is adequate for as long as you stay away from the BIG bad hills.
We live in NW Wis about 20 miles east of Duluth MN so we have some good sized hills scattered around.
We have towed around here over a half doz times anywhere from a 1/2 hour to 4 hours a way, it does the job.
Also...... Last fall we took it out to the Black Hills in SD. The big hill on I 35 south out of Duluth is a long tough pull but keeping it out of cruise we made it up with 1 or 2 down shifts to 2nd.
We went down MN 23 to Sioux Falls and Yankton SD and then west across the top of Neb to the southern Black Hills. Then over into Wy up to Devils Tower NM. Once on the way in and twice on the way out it ran out of steam in second and dropped into first for a short time.  Came home the boring I 90 across to Mn 23 again on the way home. We did purposely try to stay out of the worst of the hills.

I would do that trip again. Thumbs Up 
(I would make sure I had a newer battery next time though)

2013 Honda Ridgeline, max tow capacity 5000 lbs., gross combined weight 10085 lbs., gross vehicle weight max 6050 lbs., trailer tongue load 600 lbs. Curb weight of truck 4491lbs. I do not have a weight distribution hitch, Honda does not recommend them.

I took a quick trip from Sacramento to Willow Springs RV Park 6 miles south of Bridgeport Ca. with my 177. Sacramento’s elevation is 20 feet; we drove Highway 50 to Lake Tahoe going over Echo Summit at 7,382' (2,250 m). Dropped down to Lake Level 6,225 ft. (1,897 m) we then took Highway 89 over Luther Pass at 7,740 ft. (2,359 m). Then headed east on Highway 88 to Gardnerville, NV. and turned right on Highway 395 and headed south to Topaz Lake for my first fill up. Arrived at Willow Springs RV Park 6,740 ft. (2,054 m) and set up camp. We really like Willow Springs. The next day we drove the truck to Bodie and Lee Vining about 70 miles round trip (no trailer). The next morning we hooked up and headed back home. We stopped at Topaz Lake, NV to fill up again. Arrived back in Sacramento traveling the same route, just more downhill. Total miles for the whole trip 460 at 12.5 MPG.

I drive 55-60 MPH

I recently bought a 2010 171 and plan to tow with my 2010 Ridgeline.  I installed a 7-pin harness kit and Teknosha Prodigy P3 controller.  I didn't install the weight distribution hitch as I read that Honda advises against them.  Getting ready for a maiden voyage over July 4th weekend at a local campground for a shake out trip.

Any advice on driving the Ridgeline towing the pod?  The Ridgeline forum guys say not to use the D3 button and just let the transmission do the shifting as needed.

I use the D3 button all the time when going down hill. If the the grade is less than 6% the D3 will slow the truck and trailer with out have to ride the brakes. It also is good for slowing down before going around a curve. On steeper down hills I do not have to use my brakes as much. I have never tried it going uphill. The Ridgeline comes with a transmission cooler.

I'm towing with a 2001 F150, 4x4 Off Road with a Triton V8. It's an old truck, but with low miles and works like a charm.

We tow with a 2000 F250 diesel 4 x 4, great truck, also low miles. Plenty if power, don't even know the trailer is there.  We may try towing with our new 2015 Lexus SUV, V8 so should have plenty of power and would be a more comfortable ride.

The V8 Lexus should have no problems with the Pod weight. If it is a GX, then essentially a 4Runner platform. You may want to test tow first. Wheelbase, towbar overhang, and GX suspension may be very different from what the F250 feels like when towing.

Yes, it's a GX460. Fabulous vehicle and as much as we love the F250, some of the freeways here in California will loosen your fillings!
