Hello everyone!  Just took delivery of a brand-spakin' new 2015 182G over the weekend.  We were so excited we spent the night in the driveway just to see what it was like!

My wife and I have never owned any kind of RV before, so this is all brand new territory for us.  We are long time tent campers and are exited to move up to the good life of private toilet, running water, etc.  Lots to learn and I'll be perusing this site quite a bit as I come up to speed on everything!  This seems like a great community and I'm really looking forward to participating.

We live in Orange County, CA, so no freezing temps over the winter.  Trailer will most likely be stored in a commercial storage facility.  Currently pondering / developing a checklist for what to do when leaving it untended for a month or two, as I imagine that's about as often as we'll typically use it.

Our first "official" trip will be to the Anza-Borrego desert near San Diego - can't wait to get out there!!

I must say...

You both do a great Vanna White!!

You'll have much fun. That's pretty obvious.

B-surfer;
Like you, I spent many decades tent camping - in fact I still have my tent just in case.  Good choice with the garage model, I have a 2014 181G and it is basically a tent on wheels, but with a queen size bed.  Everything is like tent camping, until the weather turns to sh*t.  Tents can be weather proof, but after years of answering natures' call at 0300 hrs. when it is cold, windy, snowing, sleeting, raining etc. outside, you'll be glad you have the POD.  Yeah, the bathroom is kinda small, but who cares!?  I just try not to trip over the dog while making my way to the back of the trailer.  Oh, and while you're up, check the thermostat just to make sure it stays cozy.

Not much in the way of freezing weather here in southern NV - try Lake Mead, Valley of Fire and the Arizona Strip for some amazing winter camping. Best of luck, I hope your adventures are numerous and memorable.

You give peace a chance. I'll stay back here and cover you, in case things don't work out.
