Got back yesterday from another great trip to Cape Hatteras,NC. We ended up catching 123 fish in the month we were down there. 3 red drum, 2 flounder, 90 blue fish and the rest puffer fish, whiting and pompano.
While down there we went to one of the wildlife refuges and saw black bears, river otters, rattle snake, cotton mouth and all kinds of other wild life. Had great seafood and met a lot of nice people!

Sounds like a great month of fishing. Oh yeah gotta love New England seafood. While stationed in Quincy, I used to get a Chinese dish that had shrimp, scrambled eggs and rice, I can't remember what it was called but My wife and I had that dish for dinner at least once a week. We used to go to the market and choose what fish we wanted and they would bread it, fry it, and give it to you in a brown paper bag to take home. Sure was nice not having to cook it at home. I would imaging you can do the same on the Texas coast I just haven't had a chance to check it out yet.

Maybe I'll get back up that way again one of these days.

Leo - sounds like a great trip. You know you are a fanatic when you keep a tally over an entire month!

Commander - Sounds like shrimp fried rice. Or if it is a big egg pancake covered in brown gravy that is egg foo young.

Definitely a fishing fanatic!!!
We did really well towing also, averaged 14.5 for the first half of the trip and 15.5 once we got further south.
On the way home it was great we have a really good tail wind pushing us so for the first part of the return trip we were getting 16.5 mpg and then back to the 15.5 mpg and ended up in Vermont at 14 mpg.
