  • I already have a EU2000
  • I can easily handle the weight of 47lbs
  • The EU3000 weighs 139lbs
  • If I know I won't be needing the AC on a particular trip I only need to bring 1 unit
However, if I go with the EU3000:
  • I can easily sell my EU2000
  • I'll only have to maintain 1 unit
If I decide on the dual EU2000 do I get the EU2000ia Companion?
Thanks,
Bob

Without a doubt, I would STRONGLY recommend that you go with two EU2000is over one 3000. If you don't need to run the AC or microwave, you have the option of running the more gas friendly (and quieter) 2000 watt model, the 2000s together will give you more watts than the 3000, the 2000s are more portable, and if one generator quits for whatever reason, you still have the other one (2 is 1 and 1 is none), all for about the same money as one 3000 watt model. There is so little maintenance with these generators that I wouldn't even factor that into the decision. Options, reliability, portability, and more power far outweigh that.

Actually the 3000 is quieter than a single 2000; it is actually the quietest generator on the market.  Add two 2000s and they will be much louder.

bobditch, I just checked my email and I was surprised to see that you reported Keith's posts.  His posts were entirely appropriate.  Let's all get along, thanks.

Hey Capt... not a problem. I had a smile on my face when I typed the response. I was just trying to clarify that I was NOT talking at all about the AC. My question was regarding the Pros and Cons of traveling with the 2 different setups. One unit or two units that are totally different. i.e weight, maintenance of 2 as apposed to 1, 3000 vs a combined 4000,  etc.
