HI 

Here is my story, Dead

I pull my pod with a Toyota Tacoma 6 cylinder (236 hp) 4x4 double cab. It can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
The pods dry weight 2,445. Total weight loaded is 2745.

I have had the truck into Toyota 4 times about the brakes,when stepping on the brake pedal I can feel a chatter. Toyota has replace the rear drums once. They are blaming the brake problem on the pod.

Any thoughts?? I know it's not the pod,it has trailer brakes.

I will never buy another Toyota again,I am sad it because I have had Toyota trucks all my adult life.

Not enough info, but if you think it's the Tacoma, a Toyota forum might be a better place to ask.

Are you sure the trailer brakes are adjusted correctly?  What kind of controller do you have, and have things ever worked right?

We towed a much-heavier popup for years with a Sienna, and then the pod for 2 years.  Never had any brake issues.  Many others here that use Toyotas.  I wouldn't blame all Toyotas and give up on them.

Sounds like you may need to find another servicing dealer or local mechanic; Not a fault or either the TV or the TT if everything is working properly.
The chatter feel may be as simple as warped rotors from excessive heat buildup.
I assume you use a brake controller?
Have you properly set it to allow for maximum braking assistance from the TT?

Agree with all, especially Johnmaci. Go find a competent service shop. Don't blame the Taco.

 I wouldn't blame this on the taco either. With four trips to shop I would be looking for another wrench.
If I'm reading this correctly.......... If I were the wrench I would have told you to bring the Pod with after the first or second try. 
You said "I know it's not the pod,it has trailer brakes." Brakes can go bad on the Pod too.
I'm not an expert brake tech but the first question would be, it only chatters with the trailer hooked up?
That would lead me to believe the pod is probably the culprit.......Confused
Try braking (some place safe) with the trailer brakes shut off. If it still does it ........it's a taco problem.
From my experience chattering  brakes are usually caused by warped rotors on disc brakes OR warped or out of round brake drums. From my knowledge drums don't go out of round that often compared to disc brake rotors warping................  Never say never :-)

Or Studs being unevenly over torqued.
Or possibly some thing broken like a brake shoe etc but that would probably be a little nastier than a "chatter".

Guaranteed evidence it's not the Pod. Most probably front brake rotors. Find a good mechanic.

What kind of brake controller did you get. And just because Toyota installed it doesn't mean it's adjusted properly. That has to be done with the trailer attached. And didn't you just have Toyota tell you their truck was not at fault? Lesson learned?

Sounds like it's pretty well narrowed down to the front rotors........
Unless there is something unknown to me in regards to the brake controller.
Four trips in and they can't get it right?  I don't quite understand why they even gave it back to you that way?  No road test?
I would go somewhere else and get it fixed. I'm all for cutting someone some slack in extenuating circumstances but four trips is getting a little far out. 
THEN I would call Toyota and ask them why the give that dealer a circus license!
