Until I read "eye bolt" I kept looking at that pic and thought I was looking at suction cups.  I wondered how you ever got them to stay on in that application!

Sorry about the empty post-
I was trying to say that I also added 2 web straps that connect the bike rack to each corner of the pod to stop the bike rack from so much movement.  the straps hook into eye bolts that are drilled into the pod body.  they go through the pod and are screwed into 2x4 framing for our bed.  they are very secure and stop a ll bike rack movement.

another item to stop the rack movement is a "quiet hitch"- an inverted U bolt that connects the hitch to the receiver to stop any movement.  It works well.

Looks like you did a great thing for your pod.  do I see a new cross bar that connects the 2 side frame members?  It looks like the 2 small fron to back braces are attached to the new cross bar.  It also looks like you have a bike rack attached to the receiver??

I did a similar thing and added a 2" receiver so we can use a  bike rack safely. We have had no issues  after 2 cross country trips with 2 bikes.

Good job

here is what ours looks like

Safe travels

Vann

I just didn't feel good about the support on the back receiver so a reinforced it. It's just nice to know its going to still be back there when you get home.Smile
