We are trying to plan a 2 week trip for this summer and even though I live in the Southwest, I have not spent much time in high country of Utah or Colorado. Any recommendations for rv parks/dry camping in the Moab/Grand junction/Kodachrome/hanksville areas?? Thinking of staying mostly in the high country but we are not opposed to the warmer areas too.

I know its a vague question so thanks in advance for the help.

Wish I could help, we just did the 4 corner states last summer but we missed the area you are asking about.  We did a loop from Denver, through 4 corners, Petrified Forest, Grand Canyon, Salt Lake, Yellowstone, then headed east.  So I'll be interested in your travels.

When you say Grand Junction area, how big a range are you looking at?  Thirty minutes or so from Grand Junction is the Grand Mesa, which is a very high, flat mountain containing lots and lots of lakes and campgrounds.  Southeast of Grand Junction you get into the San Juan mountains, which are amazing.  But you'll be a couple of hours from Grand Junction.  Is that too far?

If not, there are several campgrounds in the Ouray area, some with full hookups (RV parks).  Matterhorn Campground near Telluride is a Forest Service campground, but has several sites with full hookups, which is unusual.  There are many great campgrounds in the Durango area, but now you're about four hours from Grand Junction.

We don't want to go to far east so I would say the divide would be the max.
We are hoping to stay in the high country during the summer months.

When you say you'd go as far east as the Continental Divide, that opens up about half the state of Colorado!  Grand Junction is about 150 miles east of the Divide.  There is no end to the possibilities!  Grab and atlas, Google mountain campgrounds in Colorado, and start planning!
