It seems like the 179 would have everything you are looking for. Toss out the table and add some comfy cushions and you would have a sofa, not a dinette. It has the kitchen, has the wardrobe...and as a bonus you get a queen instead of a single bed. The sofa is in the slide, where you want it.
It doesn't seem like you would need to customize it...it is ready to roll for ya.

Welcome. Yup, FR won't do a custom layout. There are custom RV manufacturers out there, but they aren't cheap.

I have never heard of Forest River doing customized rpods. Might have to buy one and have the work done.......sounds like an expensive project.

I've never heard of an RV Manufacturer custom building a unit to customer specifications and if there is, I sure couldn't afford it. You may be able to order some specific amenities and/or accessories with some, but the POD pretty much comes off the line fully loaded.
I'm afraid the reality and only way of fulfilling your dream is to start building.
Good luck, Sir.

I will be solo travelling, hopefully in an rPod, one day soon. Is it possible to get a "customized" Floorplan built? All I want is a SINGLE bed, a kitchen, a bathroom, and either a sofa or preferably, where a sofa might be, just a place for a smallish recliner and enough room for a small computer table or desk with storage cabinets above! And with the additional room this would create...a "wardrobe" of some sort. Oh, and the kitchen or the recliner/table area should be on a big slide! Is this possible?
And PLEASE consider a big front window that will open....protected with a closable rock guard for traveling. rPods need more and bigger windows. Thx
