I would recommend doing it early in the morning.

Last year for this trip we had issues getting a friends camper out of her yard.  She has a minivan.  We arranged for another friend to show up with their 4x4 to get it out.  This year the friend with the minivan parked it at my place just off the driveway so we can get to it easy and no 4x4 needed.

I had that problem the first year we had our pod.  Parked it in the back yard since our usual camper spot still had our popup.  Got it hitched up just fine but it rained the night before, slight incline, minivan...  took 2 hours with a come-along and a 100 foot steel cord attached to a massive tree to get it to a point where I got traction.  Learned my lesson.

This is going to end up being winter campout #2.  They are calling for 3-5 inches of snow on Friday for French Creek, plus up to another inch overnight.  I'll be bringing my snow shovel!  Confused

Freed from the icy clutch of winter...temporarily. Ground was frozen solid this morning.

Can't do French Creek. I'm thinking a thousand miles south!

About 4 inches here at French Creek.  Can't wait to see how much snow we get this summer.

Friday reminded me a bit of the trip up for the winter trip 2 years ago, in the snow.  We discovered that the mice ran wild all winter so we spent a lot of time yesterday tearing through drawers, washing a lot of stuff by hand and bagging up the rest to wash at home.  No damage to anything important.  Had a great time Saturday night, must have been over 70 people there for the potluck.  Home safely this afternoon.

The Spring Opener Rally was a success!!  We have had some odd weather camping in March.  This year South East PA got 5-6 inches of snow on Friday.  Many of the people coming added Thursday night to avoid traveling in the snow.  Personally I woke my son up at 7am and put him in the RV in his pajamas on Friday morning and we were at the campground by 8am when the snow was just starting to accumulate.  A few with 4wd or a posi rear braved the roads during the snow with the rest arriving in the late evening.

The snow was pretty and both the kids and adults had fun playing in the snow.  We burned 1 cord of wood and got the fire ring glowing red.  We needed to keep 60+ people warm for our Pot Luck dinner.  The fire was a nice romantic setting for one of the guys to propose to his girlfriend.  He is a dedicated camper and the first trip she came on was the spring trip last year.  She's a keeper.

Doug it was nice to meet your wife and daughters.  My Neice Sabrina had a blast talking with Maddie about Percy Jackson and other 12yo girl topics.....I just kept hearing laughter coming from them.

Yak.....awesome pictures.  I think I need to retire my cell phone and get an actual camera.  They are so much clearer than mine.
