Our smoke detector started beeping. Opened the smoke detector and found no 9V battery. Put in a new battery. Still keeps beeping. Pod in hooked up to house electric. Any fixes?

As was mentioned on the other thread on this topic, without the battery the smoke detector can't beep. If your CO detector is mounted close-by like mine then it may be coming from that.

You have 3 detectors in the pod, smoke, carbon monoxide, and propane.
Propane is the only one that is hardwired, and usually when people think
they have a beeping smoke detector, they actually have a beeping
propane detector because it "alarms" at about 11.5v for some reason. I
have never had a smoke detector or cO detector that gave more than 1 or
two beeps after the battery was removed.
The smoke detector can be removed by giving it a counter clockwise twist. Remove it from the pod, take it in the house. If it's still beeping, with a new battery in it, replace it. The pod is a very small space and it's often very hard to tell where a beep might be coming from. |

I added one more little to do thing when I Winterize the Pod. I pull the fuse that powers the Propane detector, its an energy hog and there is no reason to have it run all winter when the Pod is unoccupied. Well except some times when Donna is watching the Voice, then I escape to the Pod and turn on the electric heater ( gas is shut off ) and watch Old reruns on ME TV, its a local station that runs old stuff like Andy Griffith, Gilligans Island ect. Opps my I Q is showing

Thanks everyone. I put my head between the two detectors. It was the battery in the CO2 detector.

Glad you figured it out. Make a note to replace the batteries each spring.
