Thank you for your responses. Cliff & Raelyn-when you mentioned sanitize did you mean chemicals in the toilet or puttting bleach tablets in the fresh water tank.
Thanks

No tablets, but a diluted liquid mixture. You can find helpful checklists within the forum on many POD procedures by clicking on the blue hyper link in techntrek's signature block  Pod instruction manual  located right above the picture on all of Doug's posts.

The link below should take you to the same document  that will list de-winterize procedures which also addresses procedures for sanitation of the fresh water system.

Good luck Sir, Smile

Yes Sir, if they pumped the pink stuff into the system that is how I would do it. Smile

I may even flush it out then switch the valves and then sanitize.

First time owner of a 178. Looking forward to spring and a start to taking a trip. Bought the the 178 in Otober this year & had the dealer winterize the Pod when I picked it up. Corret me if I am wrong but prior to putting RV antifreeze into the system the heater bypass was closed off to prevent antifreeze from getting in the heater? In the spring do I flush the sytems in my driveway to get the antifreeze out of the POD while leaving the bypass in the winter position after which then switch over to the summer position?
Thanks for any advice & help on the topic.

We do some camping in Mass. Have enjoyed Tolland State Park in Otis and DAR State Park in Goshen. Not too far up in Vermont, we've gone to Woodford State Park, which is a little outside of Wilmington (Mt. Snow). We also first timers with a camper - going into our third year now and loving it.

Enjoy.

Good advice on learning backing skills here...one of the tricks I use is remembering while looking in your mirrors, if you want the POD to go away, steer towards the direction of the mirror. So if the POD is headed in direction of your left mirror and you want to straighten it out, steer to the left, towards the mirror. Sounds counter intuitive, but it works. Good Luck!
