After driving 1,200 miles I realized that the microwave oven dish and metal stand were still in the oven and was relieved to learn it didn't break during the trip. There are some seriously rough spots on the IH35 north of Dallas. Anyway, what do you guys do? Do you leave the roller ring, glass tray and baking plate inside the oven when towing?

i leave the roller ring and glass plate in place; have a layer of grip mat over the glass plate and under baking tray; has never moved; use grip mat (not sure if thats the correct name, sorry) on counter and elsewhere, works great!!  put other items (coffee!) in micro as well for storage; has never come open.  grip mat is wonderful. hope i answered your ?   hogone

Drove for years with those things rattling around in the microwave, no problems.  In the last year we started storing bread and chips in there so the space is utilized 100% of the time (took the stuff out when we needed to nuke something).

Ours stays in there, along with a pizza stone, small round cookie sheet, and a square electric skillet. No issues yet..
