Hello Everyone,

We (my wife, 4 year old son, 3 year old son and puppy) have ordered our 178 from a local dealer and are anxious for it to arrive.  After reading all the posts here on the forum, I hope I am ready for all of this.  Having never really done any rv'ing, I am trying to figure out the many items we will still need after delivery of our unit.  Has anyone come up with a checklist of items a new owner will need to purchase? Maybe some things to watch out for.  Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We will be towing the Rpod with a 2011 AWD Toyota Sienna.

Thank you,

Jeff

Welcome. I always suggest visiting "camp driveway" for a night, so you can hop back in the house for anything you've forgotten.

We picked up our 178 a couple weeks ago. Not sure what you have with yours but this is what I purchased. White fresh water hose, pressure valve for hose, extra power cable, levelling blocks, sewage dumping kit, hose for black tank flushing, adapter to go from electrical hookup to 110v for home connection and a few cans of beer! May have left something out but this is a start.. Driveway camped first. Two road trips with the third starting Monday for a few days in Algonquin Park. Love the R Pod

Thank you for the suggestions.  We are picking up our 178 tomorrow and will keep the suggested list in mind.  Seems overwhelming right now, but we are excited for our 1st trip.

Thanks,

Jeff

Great suggestion!  We will be picking up our 178 tomorrow and have our 1st trip planned close to home at a local campsite.  We are excited to try this new type of camping!

Thanks,

Jeff

We just bought ours two weeks ago.  Took it to the local campground (15 minutes from home) and it was a great way to get familiar with the trailer.  Keep a note pad and make a list of items as you are setting it up - I made on list for things to pick up from the house and things to purchase.  Puck podders mentioned most of the outside essentials.  We used bins under the seating area for supplies like paper towels, kleenex, 1 ply rv toliet paper, extra fire starter, drill for stabilizers, wd40, bungie cords, etc.  A three step ladder is very helpful.  Also took the hint from other posts and bought a 15x21 cutting board.  My husband is adding "legs" to place this over the stove to make it usable space when not cooking.

Screw driver kit is also handy. One that includes the square bits. I found the screws like to back out when traveling. A little dab of clear silicon on the threads helps keep it from happening again and you can still remove the screw later on if needed.
