As new R-pod owners, we were wondering if the NE Roundup was still taking place in Quechee Vt on Oct 11 and 12th? Can someone please let us know? If there are no sites available, we would like to stop by during the day and meet some other owners since it is so close to our home town.
Thanks, Beth |

No one else has shown interst on either forums or on fb or called the campground. Let me know if any one is planning on coming. We are supposed to have 5 spots semi- reserved for us as of end June - early July but those spaces may be gone by now :(

Probably a bit far for us after 4 weeks on the road this summer. The downside to big trips is we've had to cut things we really enjoy, like a week at the beach.

That is about 70 miles south of Lyndonville, right off I-91.......unfortunately we will be in the middle of our 1 month stay at Cape Hatteras KOA in North Carolina on our fishing trip :(

The campground we have in mind is the Quechee KOA. They currently have 5-6 sites (Water & Electric) adjacent to each other available right now for that weekend (Columbus Day weekend), plus one or 2 opposite. As it is a long weekend, there is typically a 3 day minimum stay, so let me know if that works out or not or we should look for another campground or another destination.
The campground can't hold the sits for us unless they have names, so it you are interested, please PM me with your name and your rpod-owners handle and I'll pass that information along to the campground. You'll have to call and pay for your site directly at a later date.

I'm going to suggest October 11 & 12 in Quechee, VT to coincide with the Harpoon Brewery's oktoberfest. It should be approximately at Peak Foliage depending on the weather.
Things to do nearby are hikes in the Quechee Gorge, the Simon Pearce glass blowing studio and boutique, Maple Syrup tasting, part of the VT beer trail and of course riding. Let me know if the time and place work out, then I'll contact the campground and start booking.

Just wanted to add that we did the Fingerlakes Wine Festival 2 years ago on our own and it was stressful at best. There were long lines to wait for a tasting, long lines for the porta-potty's and an extremely long line to wait for a ride in a stock car at the track.
However, we highly recommend the area. The wineries themselves were very nice and relaxing and the Watkin's Glen state park was very pretty. We would definitely go back but not to the the festival (which also seemed to be 80% tailgating college kids). Taking shifts staying up to make sure that a Chinese floating lantern does not land on your r-pod or dome is not fun. (There's a reason those things are illegal in most Asian countries now and highly regulated during festivals when they are permitted.) However that's another rant for another day. |
