Hello! Just joined, my wife and I are going to go look at a 178 tomorrow night to see if we like the R-Pod's as much in person as we do online. We are looking more into the lighter models, but at least want to see the concept.

welcome! We did a lot of our initial research online as well - but nothing is like seeing them in person. It will amaze you how much difference something like a small bump out (like the one in the 178) or a slightly larger dining area (also like the 178) can make. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how roomy the rPods are when you see one in person. Make sure you walk through other campers in your weight range so you can compare - we looked at a bunch of other lightweights but kept coming back to the rPod.

welcome to looking. one of the best pieces of advice i could give would be for you to poke around inside as many models as you can. we sat in our Pod on our dealer's lot for a long time just talking one day to get the feel for it and to be sure it was the right floorplan for our needs.

Welcome. We looked at them all for several years and found the 182G to fit our needs the best. I think you will discover that the models with the slide out will be the way to go because they give you so much more room inside. Happy shopping and good luck!

Thanks everyone! We're trying to determine which one to go with to be pulled with my '09 Ford Escape V6. Currently leaning towards the 171, although I keep trying to convince myself the slide will work with it.

Best advice is just to stay away unless you are ready to write a check. We loved the way they looked going down the road and at the stop light in town, and then finally went inside one and it was over. We bought a 177 hood river. We didn't even know about this web site nor viewed models on line, it was just primal on our part. Good luck trying to fight it once you see one in person. Get enough tow vehicle!!! Good luck to you.
