When the trailer was newer, whenever I turned on the water the pump made a nice humming sound, now it makes a "struggling sound"???  Also, when I used to turn off the water the pump would stop almost immediately, now it continues with the struggling sound for some time, sometimes long enough that I turn the pump off at the panel.  I have checked the filter, and did not find any debris.

Any ideas?

Could it be drawing air?  When the water is coming out of the faucets is it nice and solid or full of air bubbles?

Yup, I would check the valve right at the water pump, the one used to draw in antifreeze when winterizing.  It could be slightly open, allowing air into the system.

Good ideas guys.  I added a valve for winterizing last fall, I'll check though I think you are onto something.
