Hello all.  We've been retired for 3 years and won't board our two small dogs.  As a result, we haven't done any significant traveling so we decided a travel trailer was the answer.

After months and months of research we narrowed down the choice to a 178 or 177.  After looking at them we decided on a 178 then came across photos of the new 179.  That fit our needs much better so we put a deposit on one the dealer already had on order.  That was in late December and we're still anxiously awaiting its arrival.

We're pretty much rookies.  I had an old Apache pop up back in the 80s (I paid $300 for it) but nothing like this.  I can only imagine all the things I'll learn the hard way.  It is nice to have this forum to read through for the many tips ... hopefully it will save me some embarrassment.

Congrats. I have a rpod 179 on order as well. Prior to that I had a Rockwood Aframe. Mine is being built this March since the Rpod and Surveyor share the same factory and they alternate months for assembly. Dealer told me to expect it to arrive at their lot the first week of April.

We will only be in our second year of R-Podding this year, but we want you to know that our two dogs (about 11pounds each) loved traveling with us on the  five trips we did in 2013.  That includes jumping up on the bed and sleeping with us and going on numbeous walks throughout the day.

Our girls are only slightly bigger and they always sleep with us.  One is a Schnauzer and the other is half Schnauzer.  One trait of the breed is separation anxiety so leaving them behind is out of the question.  Of course that isn't the ONLY reason we decided to travel this way.  I remember a lot of good times and meeting lots of great people when we had the old pop-up.  That doesn't happen at the Holiday Inn.

(I'd post a photo of them if I could figure out how).

Welcome.  To post a picture you need to go to "full edit mode".  Either click the Reply button to the bottom-left of the last post, or the little arrow pointing up-right just above the quick reply text box.  Once you are there look for the little picture of the tree and click on that.

Thanks.  I'll give that a try.  If it works, this is the "the girls" since I don't have a Pod picture to post yet.
