Purchasing a 178 or 182G, have not decided yet.  Leaning towards the 178.  We do not tailgate or fish so the garage might not be used much.  We've been camping for quite a while.  We've had tents, pop-ups, Class C and a 5th wheel.  Time to downsize.  Looking forward to learning from this forum.  And perhaps at some time able help as well.  Already thinking of mods.

Might also want to consider the new Rpod 179 floorplan

We don't tailgate or fish but would not trade the garage in our 181g for anything!!

Welcome to both of you.  We would probably go for the 178 if we bought today.

Thanks for your responses.  The closest dealer will have a few 179 models in late this month.  Were going to wait until we touch and feel but will probably order the 179 after seeing on the web.

I saw the 179 this past weekend at my rv show and really like it.  Lots of inside storage plus the slide is bigger.

You are in a nice position to be in.  When we bought our R-Pod in Dec. 2013, we were mainly debating between the 177 and the new 178 (then).   We have been very happy with our 177.   The new 179 certainly looks interesting now.    The good news is that whatever you choose, we bet that you will enjoy it very much for many years!

I really would encourage folks to see the 179 before you decide on it.  Plenty of time before spring to check one out and get a good feel for it or the other models.

It really helps to actually sit inside them, sit on the couch, sit at the dinette, lay on the bed.  Close the door on yourself while you're in the wetbath and see how that feels!  Confused

And most importantly imagine yourself in the space.

I can't wait to see what you new members end up with this spring!

I really am sold on the Rpod 179 floorplan after seeing it in person at my "local" RV show and getting to sit in and explore the unit for for quite some time at the show without the sales person bugging me.

The deeper and longer slide is want really sold me on this floorplan along with having the kitchen in the back with all the storage and counter top space.

The wet bath is tight especially with the sink and then having the door closed when in use so that door won't be used much but it sure beats a portable toliet in my current unit plus having the flexibility of the indoor shower if the campground facilities are not desirable.

The inside table I would take out and use in the Rdome on those nice days.

The ottomans with the dinette are a nice addition so you can put your feet up to watch TV, etc. I was surprised how comfortable the cushions were to sit on.

Now I just have to see if I get any serious interest from others with selling my 2014 Rockwood A122BH on my own vs. consignment or trading it in.  Either way I will need to special order the 179  with the options that suite my use and won't be able to go camping with it until late April/May due to Wisconsin weather.

Good luck with your search.
