Things look like we may be doing some reorg in life and may enjoy full timing for a few years. We took a hard look at each other and said... not in a pod.

So, we had a chance to pick up a Jayco box trailer at a super huge discount like 50% off MSRP because it was last years model, but still new. We sold our pod to a friend at a price he could not refuse and bought the box...   

Still plan to hang out, unless we are kicked out..

The Jayco has a dry weight of 3700 and we plan to stay with our Pathfinder as long as we stay in flat country. Then next year or so, there are several new diesel pickups heading this way... maybe one for us.

Congrats on the change.  What is the model # of the Jayco?

We got the Jayco Feather. Alum frame, fiberglass walls. Model 221

Have not towed it yet, but think we can limp along in flat country. Later this year the Diesel Trucks are going to be on our radar.

The pod was great for towing, great for head room -- I am 6'4" great for quality of build, and great for campsite appeal. Never had so many visitors.

It was not best for bed comfort. We did purchase a new mattress but again I am 6'4" and the boxed in bed did not allow for any hanging feet.

I did not use the bath much, but wife did not like the wet bath. She never had one and it was icky to her. She also found it hard to put sheets on the bed as there was no walk around. Over all, the pod is probably better built than the Jayco... but we could not afford the Camplite or the Airstream.

Walk-around queen and dry bath, looks good.  At 4000+ pounds dry weight you'll be pushing your limits once you load up, but for now you can pull it off (no pun intended) if you don't load up the tanks.

It is 3770 dry and sits at 4000# now with full propane and battery, as well as AC and Microwave. I think we can get by with 500# of stuff and skip hauling any fresh water. This is on flat ground with minimal headwind.

For hauling through Kansas into Colorado, I want a truck.

We are installing a WDH with double sway bars (gives the ability to back up without removing sway).

    It has a nice floor plan for full time camping. Its not that heavy considering its size the aluminum frame I'm sure helps. We looked at larger campers but the price of them was not in our budget or do we have the room at home to park one larger. It sure would be nice to have all that room, some day maybe we might be able to afford something larger but not anytime soon.   David and Danette
