Yes even in Indiana we have to winterize and put her to sleep for winter. I was hoping to get one more trip in this year but it is not going to happen. with a heavy heart I winterized the pod and moved her to the "winter parking spot" I will probably wash it and let it dry before putting the factory cover on it. Donna is already talking about a trip to West Virginia, and maybe Mammoth Cave Ky. Ok I am thinking Marathon Key. ohh well sleep tight my friend. I will go down periodically and unzip the door, flip on the t.v. turn on the little electric heater and think about warmer times. 34 degrees F on Friday, come on already.

Doug, as you know unless the coolant looked like a milk shake and too thick to flow, that is not the problem. I assume its the Tahoe. have them check the fan clutch, some models believe it or not can be controlled by the computer, also if the a/c condenser fins are mashed shut from bugs or stone strikes this can limit flow of air over the radiator. last resort , have them check for hydrocarbons in the cooling system which is indicative of a slightly leaking head gasket

Techntrek, is it a tranny overtemp code or engine coolant ?

Tranny and engine temps both were spiking, only when towing.

In Mythbusters terminology, so far the new tranny fluid is a "plausible" solution - to my complete surprise.  I took the pod out for 45 minutes on Saturday, intentionally pushing it to 75 for about 20 minutes with tow mode off (I saw higher temps with it off this summer).  Then I took it down to 60-65 for the next 20 minutes.  It didn't go higher than 185 when at 75, and settled down between 165-169 at the more normal speeds.  I'm surprised.

Granted, the ambient temp was around 48 and not 78-100 like it was last summer.  But, I saw the same engine and tranny temps whether it was 78 or 100 so I'm not convinced I'll see much difference next spring once the air warms up.
