I saw your post duirng my original search. The dealer tells me there's nothing in the wall (no stud) to fasten to so I'm curious to know what you found. My pod has a hollow panel on one end that covers the wiring. The other end seems solid enough and I can probably find a stud. But how to handle the hollow end has me stumped. Can you tell I'm not handy? LOL

There have to be studs, but worst case you can use molly bolts.

You don't need much to hold a few clothes on.
When I took off the factory rod the screws were not in any kind of studs nor did they use any molly bolts or anything. Just a couple of screws in the wall material seem to be fine to hold a clothes rod up with. Those panels are a thin wood sheet with the texture laminate covering over it. I'd wager it'd be as strong a hold as your drywall at home. If you had a huge concern about it still put a bit of foam tape between your mounting bracket and the screws. Let it be screwed and stuck both!
