According to this post in last year's thread, we set the date for January 17-19.  So who is up for some cold-weather camping?  I have it on my calendar!

For those that haven't joined us in the past, French Creek keeps one loop open all winter.  There are electric hookups at each site, we usually get the sites near the heated bathroom.  Last year we all arrived in the middle of a heavy blizzard, and it got down to 10 F one night.

No need to worry about freezing up your water system, or being cold all the time.  A small electric heater will keep the pod warm - even when it was 10 outside my pod was still 72 inside.  I recommend a rug on the floor even if you don't normally use one, it will still be cold.  I use a basin in the sink for night time hand washing, etc, which gets thrown outside, and bring jugs of water.  I bring a jug of RV antifreeze to flush the toilet if needed, but with the heated bathhouse nearby it usually isn't.  So you can leave it winterized and don't worry about dumping any tanks until spring.

We always set up a large tent for evening pot luck dinners, with multiple high-output heaters that keep it pleasant (not toasty).  The last two years we visited the National Park next door which features an old iron blast furnace operation from the 1700-1800's, and we tracked down a local winery (different one each year).

Come one, come all.  Big smile

As much as I'd love to (not so sure about M but she's usually a good trooper) that would be a 2-day drive to get to for us from Charlotte ... with her work travel schedule that month it makes it a no-go for us.  But I am determined to catch-up with my fellow Podder's at some point ... would love to put faces to names and personally say "thanks" for all the help, advice and tips we have received from everyone!
P & M ... and Comet too!

yak, looks like a pic of the blizzard earlier that evening?

P&M & kymooses, some of us show up without spouses, etc, although I did talk my older daughter into joining us this past year.  My wife hates the cold, too.  I do too, but I can tolerate it better than she can.  Give me sunny and 95 any day!  I can understand not wanting to drive a full day in both directions from Charlotte, though.
