We'll be taking the last trip of the season this weekend. It's a 3 day weekend out here where we celebrate the  exploits of Columbus. I plan to drain the black water as well as the gray since we're not going out again, which brings me to some winterization questions:
1. Do I add blue stuff to the tank at the end of the season? or pink antifreeze? or both?
2. I've read the detailed info on winterization (much appreciated) and wonder how much antifreeze I'll need to buy to fill all the lines, traps, etc.

Note: We've enjoyed 20 nights of camping in the 177 this season - all dry camping at state parks. Very happy with our purchase. Some glitches, but we keep things in perspective. A salesman wisely told us that a camper is like a rolling earthquake - expect things to get loose. He was right.

When we winterized last year we did not need to add anything to the tanks themselves ... just make sure that they are drained completely.  It is the plumbing lines that are the biggest concern, and for us (using the steps provided here in the forum) a 1-gallon jug of anti-freeze was enough to do the Pod's entire system.

I over do it. The antifreeze is cheap so I run a little more down the drain than most. I used a full two gallons this year. I want to get all the water out of lines.

I am with keith and dar on this one, the antifreeze is cheap. I don't want to be taking apart frozen/split plumbing. I make sure the antifreeze runs a good long time. hot first (after heater is bypassed and drained. then cold, a lot of flushes with the toilet. I like to make sure the knife valves (dump valves) get a lot of antifreeze on the slides. It does make it hard in the winter when I am poking around in the pod not to have the bathroom able to use.
