We have purchased a 2012 177 from a private dealer.  It has been parked in our driveway for a week and now this alarm is going off. We have not used any hookups.  It is flahsing red/green and think it means "replace".  Replace what?  The detector itself or the propane tank? Need help quickly. Husband is at work and I can't reach him.  Do I need to disconnect anything?

Is your pod battery charged?  This runs off 12V, and if your battery is dead, this will happen.  Plug the pod in and see if it stops.  Check your battery indicator lights.

Thanks.  Will try plugging it in our garage. our son-in-law, made us an adapter for that.  We have not run anything since we brought it home. Would the battery still go dead?

Was it charged when you picked it up?    Obviously the detector could go bad, but check these first.  What does your light indicator say for your battery charge level?

I will have to look to find it.  I have a hard time getting op from the floor, so will wait until my daughter gets here and ask her to look if it is under the seat. Our sil had it plugged in in his garage and we then drove it home about 175 miles.  New to all of this. Really thankful for all the help on this site!

SmileAll is well!  We plugged camper into garage outlet; alarm stoppped and green light came on that is is on. Thanks for your response.

That's only the first step.  You must fully charge the battery and then disconnect the battery from the pod if you will not keep the pod plugged in while at home.  The LP detector will give you an alarm if the battery has gotten too low, and a week unplugged is just about right for that to happen.

You must charge the battery overnight once a month, by reconnecting the battery and plugging the pod in.  Then disconnecting both again.

techntrek:  have seen several posts regarding disconnecting battery.  I never have, including over winter  Been 3 weeks since my last trip, and batteries remain fully charged (or at least indicator says they are!).  I'm sure that is best practice, but is it necessary if you are using monthly?  The only draw when parked would be the gas detector correct?  If ones battery would drain in a week strictly from this detector, I would assume a bad battery or something else is going on.  Just curious.

Another quick note.  I always plug my pod in 2 days prior to use to cool the fridge and obviously put a charge on the battery.  If for some reason I don't go on an excursion, I charge monthly.
