First timers an unfortunately its raining,  On the otherhand we do have a r-dome...but it is leaking slightly and rain is low to moderate,.... can't imagine if it was a real downpour.  Can we use  silicone waterproofing on our r-dome and the windows etc on our 176t.  ( We have the bed pull out and I can feel moisture on the windows already..  My old viking had really think windows with a synthetic coating... never leaked.
If the r-dom leaks I can live with it.  If the windows of the 176T leak   I have to sleep withit!  Would love to here from some you u guys bout this,,.... just don't want to get wet

We camped in Jacksonville FL for two months.  There were downpours during that time.  Florida downpours are intense.  Yes, our RDome leaked,,,but only in certain places where the water pooled up on the "roof".  When I knew it was going to rain, I pulled the chairs, etc. away from the sides to cut down on water seeping through.  This was the first time we used the RDome for such a long time and I was very pleased with its protection.

Our 'Dome sheds water quite nicely, although we have not yet encountered
a full-fledged Florida downpour. Since the material is basically light
weight tenting, I would think that any commercially available water
resisting spray would be fine.

Of greater concern for us is wind. We were sleeping peacefully in
Gamble Rogers State Park, right on the beach, when a front moved through
about midnight. I had to dump the 'Dome pretty quickly to avoid damage.

Yup, go ahead and use silicone tent waterproofing.  As I mentioned on the other thread, we  usually only use ours on rainy weekends and haven't had a problem with leaking.  It possible its waterproofed at the factory but somehow yours missed that step.

As for the water inside your windows, I'm sure that is condensation.  All models of pods are so air-tight that everyone has found they need to leave a window or two cracked open and the vent cracked open to keep the condensation down.

We have had trouble with condensation in the dome. It will seem like the dome is leaking when that happens. (We had 4 adults and 4 dogs in there at the time.. closed up, 45 degrees outside, and raining)

I've been meaning to throw a can or two of the tent stuff on our dome one of these seasons, not because it's needed yet but just as maintenance.

Those spray cans are just not a lot of fun.  Sounds like a DW job!!!  Glad she doesn't read forums!

DW is actually at wally world getting 2 cans of spray today for us.  I've got to sew a tear in our dome and figured why it was all laid out in the driveway a bit of preventative sealer never hurt no one.

We have used our Dome everytime we have gone out, and even though we have had some nasty t-storms hit us the top part of the Dome has never leaked on us.

However, the sides and front where the screen windows are will and do "leak" as the water runs down and then blows through.  The screen covers are not the best at keeping out the rain when it is blowing sideways.  Like others we move our chairs & other items we want to keep dry into the middle when a bad storm comes up, just so they don't get the blow-in from the windows.
