Donna and i's favorite close by home (40 minutes away) Federal camp ground is closing this coming tuesday I swear they were open last year until november 15, this year they are closing all sites down oct 15, they used to keep the north face open all year. I wonder is there a cut back in the federal budget ? We are heading out tomorrow morning for a one nighter, I am not ready to give it up, I think we can do 2, 3 maybe 4 more short trips before we have to winterize, cover her up and wait for next year. When you still have to work full time jobs, you have to work in what you can. We are blessed to have several camp grounds less than one hour from home, sometimes i just need a one nighter to help balance life and its demands. I guess when I winterize I will just have to go down to the pod and make some biscuits in the convection oven to feel at home. happy Poddin all.

October is a new fiscal year and many are running scared from the potential sequestration, so it is very likely they are cutting back now in case the major cuts come later.

Techntrek, found out they keep the grounds open until 11/15 with pit toilets and only frost free water spickets, but all sites have electric and the host sites have water/sewer/electric, Donna does not like staying at grounds when they dont have a camp host, she is kinda worried about crazies, ect, I have camped there for years and our son and I have deer hunted and never had a problem.

I was hoping that we could get one or two more trips, at least one nighters before having to winterize the pod. Southern Indiana, Mon through thursday 80, 81, 82, then mr low pressure, 46 today solid rain, grey skies, windy. Tomorrow maybe 57, maybe some sun in the afternoon. Next week, 50's, I can do 50's with the sun shining, come on weather give me one or two more runs.

Cleaned out the pod this afternoon and put it to bed for the winter.  Sigh.

We have winterized the RPod but just for a couple of months. Then we head to Florida! Planning on stopping in Charleston to enjoy the light festival, then into Orlando to meet up with family. Finally get to our winter home in Fort Myers. But we have plans to go to New Orleans and the Keys this winter, so we are very excited to still be able to camp!

Weather for Saturday is looking like 64 sunny and I think we are going to be able to make a run for Buffalo Trace park, about 30 minutes away, 30 acre lake, do some fishing and walking trails, fire outside, some grillin before the long chillin, I hate to winterize the pod but I know its coming. I just have to try to strech one or two more trips before putting her to bed. My Daughter and I did our last Indian creek wading trip this morning, we had on waders and using ultra light, she caught 2 nice goggle eye (rock bass) and 3 little smallies, I caught 5 smallies a 7, 9, 11, 12 and mrs fattie a 16.5 inch 4lb on 6 lb trilene with a chartruese and melon 1/8 oz rooster tail, we put them all back, what a trip. I wish the Pod had been there to make it better.
