Welcome. I think there are 2 "rope" sizes. One option might be to close the track slightly with pliers.

Hello all,
I am new to the forum, having just purchased our 2012 R-Pod HRE 177, but I can already tell I am going to like it here!
I have a question about the awnings. I bought a Dometic awning on EBay, not wanting to spend over 600 on a RDome, and the rail attachement is the wrong size. Where the awning attached to the R-Pod in the rail, it just falls out. The rail is too big for the awning part. Has anyone else had this happen? Did they change the rail size on the 177? The person that I bought the awning from advertised that it would work.
Thanks in advance for your help!

They work fine. Just wipe the road film off the pod before attaching them.

Thanks a million but do they really hold even when windy and does it keep the rain away? Do you put them on the face of the trailer or on the sides like for the snaps?

Most everyone uses suction cups rather than drill holes in the pod. We got these at Wal Mart. Put the metal hook through the hole in the dome and pinch it shut with some pliers, leave them attached to the dome when you take it down.

We just got our new RPod and will be trying our new rDome. The snaps were not installed on our RPod by the dealer, were your's installed or did you do it yourself? Any suggestions? hate to drill holes ourselves in the new unit, could mark the spots where they need to be installed and ask the dealer to do it.

On the left is a picture of my pod with the rDome attached. We've been using suction cups to hold the dome to the front of the pod. On the right is the previous poster's photo, makes more sense to me than the way we've been doing it.

And Jpod, that's exactly how mine looks when I set it up too. Minus the front.
