Hi all,
I just got my new r pod 171. I was nervous driving it home by myself but I did it backing it into my driveway too. It's so cute and I'm currently preparing to go on my first trip with my dog. New to RVing.

Sunshine Gal, welcome to rv'ing and enjoy your Pod. We just bought ours and can't wait to take it out.  Don't worry about driving with the Pod, you will get use to it in no time.  Just remember, make wide turns. I learned the hard way with our old trailer, made a sharp turn and the trailer tires went over the curb and part of the grass!

Look forward to hearing out your first outing.

Hi,
We have been camping and RVing  for years, but just bought a 2010 177 R-pod. We started out with a big class C, then went to a fold up ALiner type, then to a hugh camping trailer and decided we were happier being smaller.  We haven't had a chance to take it camping yet, but we are busy making some modifications. Maybe in August, we will get on the road. We drove over three hours to pick it up and then drove home. Our new Rav six cylinder did just fine,,,we pulled our other small camper with a Rav.
We saw an R-pod for the firat time in April and fell in love. It didn't take us long to sell our big camper, sell our truck, and buy a Rav,,just so we could buy an R-pod!!

Welcome.  We too bought a 171 about 3 months ago.  Haven't camped for about 20 years with a trailer.  Have taken our third voyage and preparing to head for Bryce and Zion National Parks in Sept.  Enjoy your new trailer.  I would highly recommend reading all of the posts.  A little daunting but lots of good info.  Trouble shooting tips, and easy and very useful mods.  Take your time with them.  Two other suggestions, that someone made.  One, get a large 3 ring binder and fill it with the see-thru folders.  Put each of the directions, warranties, etc into each one of them.  Keep in the trailer when you travel.  Easy to locate all of the directions for the systems in your tailer while away.  Two, space is at a premium.  Look into all the space saving devices and mods that people have done.  Oh, and three, take a pad and paper with you and write down all the things you forgot to pack, and anything that is not working to your satisfaction for addressing later by your dealer.  Enjoy, and Safe Travels.

Hi from a couple newbies!  We recently purchased a 2013 R pod 177. Is our first RV and have now had it out on a couple short trips.  We pull it with a V6 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which seems to handle it pretty well (we hope). This is our first post and hope we're using Forum correctly.  Also have alot of questions about our R pod, and the one at the top of our list is this:  We have the 4 stabilizer jacks on the corners of the unit, but even in the fully cranked up position, we drag on the driveway/street when going in and out of our place.  The driveway has some incline to it, but doesn't seem excessive.  Don't want to damage the jacks, but not sure how to fix this problem without removing/changing them.  Would welcome suggestions.  Thanks (and happy to have the Forum available for folks like us.)

Have your dealer add the lift kit.  Or, if your handy, do it yourself.  Safe Travels.

I thought all the the newer (2012+) models came standard with the riser kit. You should be able to tell if you look under the unit on the axle by the tire.
