Topic: 90 day service Posted: 17 May 2012 at 10:10am |
I'm pretty sure it would not have been free. Anyway since they are 500 miles away - I wasn't planning on taking it in anyway. I was really interested in getting feedback as to what if anything the forum thought would be things that should be looked at at the 90 day point.
BTW, I did email the dealer to ask him what they intended to do if I brought it in. I didn't hear from them.

This is the first I've heard of a 90-day service! Was it free? If so, then you have a great dealer!
If not, then it sounds to me like he's found a way to generate extra revenue for his business.

I do not believe that there is a 90 day service for the pod unless the dealerthat sold it to you is a real good one.

Thank for the info. This forum is really great. even though we have camped ( using other rigs / tents) for years it is nice to talk to folks with experience with the r-pod, since we are totally new to it.
Like you have mentioned, we have a couple things that need attention, eventually. For example one of the running lights on the fender stopped working on the first day out from picking it up at the dealer. thought I'd take a look at it first, but I haven't gotten to it yet.
There is a note on the door about checking the seals every 90 days. Other than looking for wear / cracks is there really anything to look for? is there a silicon spray or other stuff that should be applied to them to keep them supple?
thanks again,

There isn't really a 90-day service - sounds like an excuse to upsell you on service and stuff.

Yes, stuff like that. Our electrical panel cover broke and the propane hose thingy leaked right at the tank. (The dealer refilled the propane as well as fixing the leaking part.) B

I never had a 90 day visit. I kept a punch list that they took care of when I took it back in the fall for winter storage. We had minor stuff like broken cover on the sewer tube, crooked AC cover, missing clips for the blinds.

Generally, the first trip into service is to have any defects you've noticed corrected. In my case, the microwave had to be bolted down again, a peg for the r-dome had to be moved, the screen door had to be adjusted, and the porch light had to be fixed.
Likely, they'll also check your lug nuts, your A/C bolts and do a once-over for any signs of stress on the frame.

Just got an email form the dealer I bought our 177 from in February. They are inviting me to bring it in for the 90-day-service. Unfortunately they are 500 miles away and I am now living in my pod full time so it would be pretty inconvenient to take it there ( or any where).
Have any of you had a 90-day-service done? what was done? seems like it couldn't be too much. I have emailed the dealer asking what info they have on scheduled maintenance and will post their recommendations if they answer.
Thanks for any feedback,
