Tim is right, make sure that the Fan is OFF and not on Auto. Did the same thing myself the first time. Goose

They should operate separately even on the same thermostat, but I've heard of others with this problem. I think Tim's suggestion is the solution.

Make sure that on the thermostat that the setting is not on AU, which will control the AC fan even if the furnace is running. You should see a Mode button. Cycle through it until it says off.

Yeah, mine is the same way. The A/C has controls on the A/C and the furnace is controlled by the thermostat on the wall.

Unless they've changed the way the heater and A/C interact or maybe it's a difference between your model and mine, my heater controls and A/C controls are totally separate and the heater fans works with the heater and the A/C fan on the ceiling works with the A/C. They do not mix or share.

A bit of confusion this morning. Thanks to some very mild temps in Northern WI I was able to get our new pod close enough to the house to hook it up (20amp) and begin testing a few things before we start our month long Gulf Coast sojourn at the end of this month.
Started the furnace this morning and while it worked fine, the furnace setting on the thermostat also ran the AC at the same time. Maybe not the compressor but the fan was running. Is this normal? Couldn't get it to shut off without turning the furnace off. Thanks for your help. Duanne |
