Its a Little early in Southern Indiana to camp, so Donna and I took off today to explore some camp sites near our home, One is real close, about 15 miles, Buffalo Trace park in Harrison co Indiana (about 15 miles north of Corydon Indiana and about 25 miles west of Louisville ky) I cant believe how much it has changed, for a County owned park its an eye stopper, nice litte 12 to 15 acre lake, they rent paddle boats, aluminum fishing boats, shaded electric camping sites within 25 feet of the lake, nice clean showers, nice playground for kids, paved walking trails, Corydon Indiana is Indiana's first state capitol and you could spend a weekend exploring caves, restraunts, antique shops etc, then we drove to Delaney Creek Park another county park, about 15 miles north east of Salem Indiana, its got a nice lake but not layed out well, I did not see many pod sites, there was a hill covered with permanet camp sites, sheds, golf carts etc, We drove the gps crazy today, it was kind of fun to just explore where we are going to. I still think Hoosier National forest just off of I64 about 45 miles west of Louisville ky cant be beat, its huge, the camp sites are private and shaded, and 4 lakes and walking trails and 3500 acres of mushroom hunting this spring. anyone like fresh fried morel mushrooms ?

Last summer Dar and I camped in a campground that is not much further away, and had a great weekend.  I like going to Colorado, but camping locally is fun too!

Keith, in case you did not know, you are 2 posts away from being a senior member, that means you will have to start dying your hair, I wish I had some hair on top to dye.

Which campgrounds in H.N.F. have you used? We are an hour south of there, and have been thinking about going up there..
