First time towing a 151 at night, I noticed it's hard to see the fenders in the side mirrors. I like to keep the right side wheel close to the edge of the lane marker (in the slow lane of the freeway) to give semis room to pass, and a light on top of the fender would be very helpful.

Hopefully DOT and Forest River will understand that you and others would feel and be much safer if there were running lights on the fenders of all the Rpods from 2009 and up.

I agree with David and Danette. We were fortunate to have lights that make it very easy to see the Pod at night while driving. I'd be really nervous driving at night without those lights.

Hold out for the possible Federal Safety Recal that is being looked into. Pulling after dark leaves us like a sitting duck as the trailers DONOT have enough lights and not even the amount the Federal Goverement requires.

I think it was only the first 2011 build and earlier that did not have these installed. Our 2011 is okay too.

I was thinking of putting some reflector tape on my wheel well fenders as I can't really see them in the rear view mirror at night. I was thinking of putting yellow on the fronts and red on the backs of the tire wheel well fenders. That was a concern for me the last time I went camping as I came back at night.

It wouldn't be too difficult to add lights to the fenders, you can run the wires underneath to the front of the Pod and tap into the wiring there.

I put reflective tape on mine, I cut a square about twice the size of a postage stamp, red on the back and white on the front. you can see the white in your mirror at night when traffic is approaching.
