French Creek State Park just below Reading, PA is opened year round.

Any one want to plan to come to a January Camping Trip?

How about Friday January 13th - Sunday January 15th?

Cost $31.00 a night for a non pet site or $33.00 a night for a pet site (Both are electric in the C Loop)

Strange!  There is a French Creek in the western part of the state also.  Old General Washington went up stream from Pittsburgh to attack the French up by Erie.  But to answer your question....NO!LOL  I don't want anything to do with Pennsylvania in the winter again.  Too many winters up there as it is.

There are people that make stew out of skunk also.  You get one, clean it, I'll come and cook it!

My son works in the Deli / Meat Department of a local store here.  I have him asking to see if they can get skunk meat.  They have gotten other types of meats for me already like Antelope, Raccoon, and  Llama along with some other stuff.  For some reason the nights I cook those up nobody is hungry.  They have no idea what they missed.

Well, can't say the idea of roasted rodent is in my gastronomic top ten, but a weekend in the woods sounds great in January. Sign us up, too! Easy trip out the PA Turnpike for us.
We never got to Codorus this fall, Doug, had to travel, but we are going to a local NJ County park this next weekend and again in mid-November. I was out there today checking it out and saw another RPod, set up, but the folks were away.
There are a number of nice state or local parks in the NJ Pinelands, a different environment than the northeast deciduous forest, with lots of interesting history and the lure of Atlantic city, if that's your thing.
