You are not going to get a brand new Hood River Edition, 2012 177 R-Pod for only $12k.  That price was a couple of years ago, for a 2010 RP 171 model (no slideout and not an HRE), if I'm not mistaken.  My 2011 RP 177 cost a few grand more than that.  It was also fully loaded.

I love my r-dome came with the camper when we got our R-176. The directions to ours
was infact for a popup tent camper. Heard several say they had problem getting the r-dome  in the
track. We had no problems and the first time using it having to read the directions only
took about 15 minutes.

My husband and I just got a Hood River Edition - 177 -- wondering if anyone knows about a new color scheme for the dome to match the tan color of the later edition 2012 -- and looking at posts, seems like we paid too much if you can buy a fully loaded one for 12K

My wife and I just purchased an Rpod 177 hre.  We've owned a tent trailer for 10 years so this is quite an upgrade in many ways.  This forum was very helpful in looking at when we were deciding.  Thanks!

But I have a question also.  When we were sitting down with the final paperwork, the r-dome, which we want, was a $1000 option.  Now I'm no manufacturing specialist or anything, but this option looks to me like nothing more than a large tent, customized to fit the rail of the rpod.  This seemed to me extravigant, and I opted not to purchase it at this time.  Did everyone else pay this much?  If so how much?  We do want one, and I'm going to try and call the factory tomorrow to see if I can get one direct.  Did everyone get theirs through the dealer?

Thanks
David Jenkinson

Not to mention the R-dome is made by Dometic.  They sell the same thing for pop-up campers - it slides into the awning track.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this particular one would work on an R-Pod, I'm just saying they are the same thing.  They are sold by Camping World and certainly cost less than $1000.  Here's the link.

Agree with all, that is way too much.  We got our pod at a very competitive price with all options included (slightly over $12k).

Welcome!

Ours came with the Pod; $1000 way to much. Shop around, you will find one MUCH cheaper.
