Welcome to our group and congratulations on your new Pod! Smile

The genset you mention is a fine unit and quite popular.  However, it is just a tad too small without making a modification to the air conditioner (a "hard start capacitor").  If you do a search on the subject, you'll likely find the info.  If you have trouble finding this, give a shout and I'll find it and point you to it. I'll offer this caveat: Making this modification may void the warranty on your A/C unit.

Welcome.  A hard-start capacitor is very cheap and not hard to install, so its worth a try.  Just understand it may not solve the problem.  Worth a try though.

I found one of the posts here:

I seem to recall one or two have tried this - perhaps they will see your question and respond.  I do not use a genset, so I have no personal experience.  I'll echo what Techntrek says...I am not certain it if will work.

2000 watts is on the edge.  However, the A/C units used on the 'pods are higher efficiency than older A/Cs.  My running watts with the fan on low is 1000, where the A/C on my popup was around 1600.  Its the startup surge that will make or break the deal.  It wouldn't hurt to try it on a hot day before you get the capacitor.

Here is another benefit to a hard start cap it will also run off of a 20 amp circuit at your home. There is a kit made to extend run time you can go to 3 gallon or 6 gallon or 12 gas tank if you want to i think they are called extended run tanks. I use a 3 gallon one and it runs all nite then some. I can run my 2000 on eco mode when using my air I have a 11,000 btu air but have heard they will also run a 13,500 btu also on eco mode.
