My front decals were starting to go.  I have the cover now so that should stop it from going all the way bad.  But I have been looking at a local company with 20 years experience doing airbrush work.  They have some beautiful 10'X12' walls!

I was thinking of some type of Florida scene with the ocean and palm trees.  Maybe a gator!

sfish, love it.

Tracy, what what the name of the advertising company?  I looked at one a few years ago but don't remember the name.  I wouldn't mind an add for a year or two for some cash.

This is the one that was written up by Time Magazine:

This one seems to be on the east coast:

Here's another one:

and this was the one on TV:

I think the ones I looked into earlier were Canadian based.

I see a mention of people using Goo Gone to help with the decal removal. I'm in the process of removing the from the front and back and am looking for any other tips or tricks to clean up the residual mess.

Is there any way to have minimize the fading between where the decal was and wasn't?

PS - I'm ordering a custom decal with the name of our r-pod (Cutie-Pod) to stick to it. Should add a nice touch!

I started with a heat gun on low and the decals came off quite easily - about 30 minutes to do the front of the r-pod.  The glue residue on the other hand was a torture conceived by Beelzebub himself.

I'm not that familiar with gel coat on fibreglass, so I wasn't willing to use anything very strong.  Goo Gone worked for me on the glue residue, but it was a long, painful process. I ended up saturating cheap paper towels with Goo Gone and taping them over the residue in order to let it soak in.  After 20 minutes or so, I'd remove a paper towel and then use a terry shop rag to rub the glue residue off.  A mere four hours after I began, the job was done.

wd 40 works wonders on glue residue... my experience with a couple boats says there is not much to do about the fading.. but it will even out over time..

My 2011 is starting to peel but it not that bad yet,  but my 2011 is an early one and has the old graphics still.

My 2010 is just starting to peel as well.  Does anyone know what causes this?  Is it UV exposure?  Is it something about the curvature?  Has anyone tired to prevent further peeling?

Our Rpod has been kept under cover the front gets a little of the afternoon sun and the decals are not peeling. But this year I have noticed little bubbles forming in the middle of the decals only on the front. It is a 2009, I think the reason others are peeling is because of direct sunlight or extreme cold temperatures. Our Rpod has had neither and the decals are holding well and it was one of the first Rpods built.  David

In my case ultimately the problem was ice sliding down the curved front and back.
