R-Dome Issue - material (fabric)

 

I used my R-Dome for the first time on my last camping trip mid-July, and I loved it.  Unfortunately, when I took it down, I was shocked    that it (the white part) ripped!  And it ripped so easily.  No problem -- It turns out that Forest River is aware that the R-dome material is defective (or weak) and so they are replacing    my R-Dome.  I don't know if this has been an issue for anyone else, but thought you might like to know.

 

Also, had the axle risers installed today.  No more sanding the stabilizers on the pavement or digging them in the dirt, . . . AND . . . no more "dumping" uphill.

The rip was not in the seam but it was in the white fabric beside the seam.  It ripped about 3 feet.  I had previously talked to the dealer on the phone and he asked me to bring the R-Dome down for his warranty guy to look at when I had the axle risers installed.  The warranty guy looked at it and then called FR and they said they would send a replacement because they were already aware there was a defect with the fabric.

 

 

I didn't have to deal with FR myself.  But I do have to turn the ripped R-Dome back in to the dealer when the new dome comes in.
