One downside to the 'pod - you can't put the roof down and then walk on it like a popup, and you can't climb a ladder and then walk on it like a big rig.  Its caught in the middle where getting to the curves and crevices are a royal pain!  I still couldn't get to everything on top, I think next time I'm going to have to pull it next to my back deck and put my ladder on that so I can half-lay on the roof.  Any other suggestions?
 
Can you tell I cleaned my 'pod yesterday?

Yeah - I pay the storage outfit to clean mine! $29 with a 10% discount because I store my trailer there - works out to $26. I do it every couple of months.

I just use pre-soak and let the soap do the work.

I wish a good soak would have worked, this thing needed a good scrub.  Especially with all the bugs it picked up after our trip to Florida in April.  Luckily my mop got to most of the top but it still wasn't great.

I use something like this:
 
I bought mine at Walmart years ago and attach it to the end of a "painter's pole" (it has the same threads).   It is a soft bristle, synthetic brush so, it does not scratch the finish.  On my exisiting camper, I don't need a ladder at all (unless I do the roof).  With the Pod, I could use a step ladder with this arrangement and get most of the areas.  Try to get as much as you can while working from the sides of the Pod.  The curves on the front and rear make it hard to get very close to the work.
 
I don't use (or have) the flow thru option.  I just dunk the brush in a 5/gal bucket of soapy water.  I use automotive car wash and favor "Mequires Gold Class" products.
 
Another one of my tips would be to wash early in the morning.  The dew wets and softens the bugs and dirt making them easier to come off.

   I weigh 165 lbs. I gently crawl up on the roof and wash it. So far I have had no problem. I think it could depend how strong your roof is by the model Pod you have. The 171 gets some support from the wet bath and the refrigerator and microwave cabinet. Crawling helps to distribute the weight I wouldn't recomend walking on the roof. You need to use caution that with soap and water it can be slippery and easy to slide off the rounded front and back part of the roof.    David

I used  a step ladder and a brush on an extension pole, not really ideal but moving around a few times I think I got everything. (fingers crossed)

I've found this pretty tough as well.  I have the Pod parked at the end of the driveway where half of it is under the trees where I seem to get a lot of tree debris and bird droppings, so I find that I need to wash the Pod once per month or every 3 weeks.  The roof is the hardest to wash because of all the stuff to work around (i.e. the A/C, the pipes, and the TV antenna).  I climb up to the very top of a step ladder, and use one of those car wash mops on an extended poll.  It seems to work well for me.  Oh, and I really love the RV wash and wax that Walmart sells.  I thinks it's by Camco.  It really brings out the shine.

I have a fold-up extension ladder that works very well.  I can wash most of it using and RV washing extension & brush which I got from Wally World.  I can reach everything ex the very top standing on the ground.  But yes you do need some type of ladder to do the very top.
