Topic: 182g on order Posted: 18 May 2011 at 5:52pm |
I believe it's time to stop lurking and introduce myself. Currently have a fully loaded 182g HR on order which should be completed/delivered in the next two weeks. The TV will be a modified FJ Cruiser so hopefully they'll be enough power to get where I need to go :p We are very excited and look forward to having some great camping trips with our son!

Welcome SoCalPod!
We were at the local R-POD dealer this past weekend and checked out a 181 (I think). Looks like they increased the size of the stablizers and placed them at a 45 deg. angle. Also noticed that the dome channels were of a larger cross section, that should aid in putting up the dome.
It will drive you crazey waiting for delivery !

congrats on your pod. i just bought a 2011 surveyor with a slide out. it is heavier than the r pods but similar in length height etc. built at the same factory by the same workers who build the r pod. the surveyor is builtm by forest river like your pod. we pull our camper with a f j cruiser. we had the sway bars and lectric brakes added. you will have plenty of power. you will know its back there but the power is not a problem. we . didnt run across any mountains or even real steep hills. put i felt we had enough to get over them when the need arises. sorry if i rambled .thought you might like a little re assurance. have fun

Hi SoCalPod and welcome!
We confess we lurked for months too before signing in about two weeks before we got our Pod this spring. You 'll find lots of great tips and friendly people on this site.

Congrats SoCalPod. You'll be on pins and needles waiting the next two weeks until you get the pod. But after that . . . Happy Podding!

I've had plenty of experience with camping and pulling jet skis or just
driving an RV but this will be the first travel trailer I will be
towing. We are very excited!

That's fantastic to hear! There are a few hills/mountains here in California but that's what leaving it in 4th and listening to the toons is for right? My FJ is modded some and I do have abit of weight added to it, which was a big factor in choosing the R-Pod in the first place. Let's just say the FJ is not stock :) Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!
