    Posted: 03 Feb 2011 at 10:44pm
I have put the final mods on our new 177.  At least until we can finally take it camping a few times to see what else I want to do.  I do plan to eventually add lights to the fenders, but that will be later in the spring.  I don't plan on any night traveling til then anyway!

So here are my final mods:
Curtain (valance) on tension rod to hide under bed storage.  The tension rod makes it easy to take down in case the heater is needed (which is under the bed).

These are the graphics I put on the back and beside the door:

These are coasters I made...

Close up of coaster-

And these are the doors I made to cover the cabinet area under the fridge.  It came with one of those stretchy net things that you can see through.  Don't like seeing pots and pans as soon as you open the front door! So this is my solution-

Close up shot of the doors-

I made the vinyl graphics, the coasters and the doors.  The doors and coasters are a process called dye-sublimation.  If anyone is interested in custom items such as these, or the vinyl lettering...let me know!

I like the lettering and graphics.  I've considered adding something on the outside but I don't know what yet.

Iamsmonk, do you mind sharing how you made the vinyl lettering and applied it?  Can it be done with a desktop printer?

Hodge-PODge: The lettering is not printed, but cut out of vinyl on a vinyl cutter.  It is the process used in sign making shops (which I do for a living).  If you are interested in getting something done for your Pod I'd be happy to work with you.  You can let me know what you want, where you want it, what color you want it and I can guarantee you won't find a better price!  I can email you a layout of the design before I cut it to make sure you are happy and there's no surprises.  It is very easy to apply since it's just basically a decal.  Let me know if I can help you out.

How far is Calhoun from the SC state line?  I'm just above SC in NC so we're practically neighbors!

I think I may see what you can design because I really like what you did on your pod.  I have something fairly simple in mind.  Let me play around with some graphics and I'll show you what I sort of have in mind and I will email it to you, and then you can play around with it and come up with a suggestion or two.

So we are fellow Carolinians then!  I was born and raised near Wilmington, but I now I live about 60 miles north of Atlanta, Georgia, not far off I-75.  My mom lives in Brevard, N.C., and once in a while I will travel I-85 north from Atlanta, cross the S.C. line and go up the Foothills Pky and then go north on the Pickens Highway up to Rosman, then Brevard.  However, it's closer for me to just cross the GA mountains cross over into Murphy, N.C. and go up through the Nantahala Gorge and on to Asheville, then Brevard.  I bet you are a little familiar with most of these places since you're not too far away.
