HI, MY NAME IS LARRY AND MY WIFE IS SONJA. WE LIVE IN WESTERN KY. WE LOVE TO FLY FISH AND LOVE THE MOUNTAIN STREAMS AND RIVERS. WE HAVE BEEN TENT CAMPERS FOR YEARS. I RECENTLY TURNED 60 AND WE DECIDED TO GET AN R.V. BEEN LOOKING AT ALOT OF CAMPERS AND THINK THE R POD 171 MIGHT BE FOR US, ANYWAY GOING TO LOOK AT ONE TOMORROW AT DEALER. ITS A 2011 MODEL AND WE WILL BE PULLING IT WITH A TOYOTA F J CRUISER. AS I AM NEW AT THIS WILL BE ASKING ALOT OF SILLY QUESTIONS TO YOU PROS. HOPE U DONT MIND. WE TRAVEL WITH OUR PITBULL TUFF. SURE HE WILL LIKE GETTING OUT OF A TENT. ANYWAY HOPE TO MEET SOME OF YOU GUYS.AND MAKE NEW FRIENDS, WE ARE HOPING TO MAKE IT UP TO CANADA FOR A FLYFISHING TRIP SOON.AND WOULD LIKE TO GO TO SOME OF THE CAMPOUTS YOU GUYS HAVE. SORRY ITS SO LONG GLAD TO BE HERE

  Welcome Larry, we got our 171 10 days before Labor Day this year and have had a great time with it. We tent camped for years and like you this is our first trailer. It is GREAT to be off the ground. We made a few MODS to the POD and haven't had and problems with it. Took it out to AZ. for a month and just loved it.

Welcome.  My only complaint with my 171 is having to climb over my wife if I need to use the facilities in the middle of the night.  I put a 2-step stepstool by the bed at night which helps (it collapses when not in use).  They announced the models that have the slide-outs the week after we picked ours up so we didn't have that option.  I might have gone that route, but I keep reminding myself that by not having a slide-out we saved 300 pounds...
