This was the first time for me to remove the anode. It looks like the middle one. Thanks.

Until it looks like the top one, it's fine and doing it's job. May take a year or a season, may never be needed if you have good water most of the time...

Mine is a R172, but I would think the anode I purchased last year from Amazon would fit your 179.

You may find different lengths so have an idea of the length before you go into a hardware store or on line.

Thanks. I found the mfg and searched it. Looks like there are plenty of suppliers and as you say it looks like a standard part.

As long as the anode is still one piece and will not break apart, it can be reused.  I wipe it down and reinstall it with a bit of teflon tape.  It is a standard part, available at most RV dealers, amazon and Wal Mart. There is really only one size.

I am dewinterizing my RPod-179. I removed that heater anode rod. It looks corroded which being an anode that is of part it function. What should I look for to make sure it is okay?  It is really coated. Plus does anybody have the part number.
