Is the Zamp port connected directly to the battery without any diodes or such inline? If so, I'm thinking about using it to power a wireless backup camera since it's close to where the camera would be mounted, it's always on (as opposed to using the power for the running lights), it's easy to disconnect, and it doesn't involve piercing the Pod's shell beyond the camera mounting holes. I'd just have to figure out how to secure the wires.

AFAIK, it should be. There might be an inline fuse, but I don't know about that. Easy enough to check.

I have a 2019 179 and the wiring from the rear of the trailer Zamp outlet had a positive wire running to the battery positive and the negative side was wired from the Zamp outlet to the frame in the rear (behind the wheel) then the negative was wired from the frame up by the right front frame (under the trailer) to the negative side of the battery with no fuse or circuit breaker in line on either the positive or negative line.  Hope this helps.

I use mine as a power port for a metal porch light that I stick to the magnet on the storage door.
My wires both run directly to the battery there's no fuse on it, so I added a fuse to the wires just inside the storage door behind a small panel next to the tail light, (on a 180).

Not sure about a fuse, but my Zamp connector is hot all the time.

The zamp ports are hot all the time, you can use them to run loads no problem. Please add a fuse at the battery.

Don't add the fuse at the load device. Fuses are intended to protect the wiring, they can't do that if you put them at the far end away from the source of power. It would be like taking all the circuit breakers out of your home panel and putting them in the receptacles instead. Not a good idea. Cry

Wow, I didn't expect such a big response. Thanks for all the input. Now I just need to find a cable to plug into the Zamp port and wire into the camera.

EDIT: I found this one on Amazon that has plenty of cable and is reasonably priced. Think it'd work?

My ZAmp is hot all the time, no fuse when connected to battery. I used it with fuse to mount a reel out service light that goes all around trailer in emergency situations. The service light is mounted inside the storage door.
