Just took delivery of our 175 last week. Other than drum brake problem everything seems ok and it all works just as it should. I realized that the pod is too low so I have purchased axle risers for $75 from FR and plan to install them myself when they arrive. This forum helped me decide to purchase our 175. Next Spring my wife and I plan to go around the United States (11,600 miles). She (hare), pulling the r-pod and me (tortoise) riding my bicycle plan to camp together in evenings. I rode across the US in 2005 so I know it can be done. P.S. - the brake problem was this- the spring holding the brake shoes together must have come off and the adjusters fell apart causing them to make a noise during every revolution. No internal damage, just a new spring and had the wheel bearings repacked at same time. Thank you for all comments made - it helped deciding easier. Tortoise and Hare (Will also be our pod name)

Wish you luck and good times. Start a thread that with your route and maybe some us can comeby and CHEER you on.
Have Mini Roundups along your route.

Wow! I'd love to hike the AT some day but biking the whole US is another thing entirely. Very cool. I second Butterfly Lee's suggestion, feel free to start a thread in the camping adventures forum.
Welcome to the forum.

Thanks to everyone for the welcome. We won't be doing our once in a lifetime trip till next March and we'll post it on camping experiences. It would be nice to visit with others on the way to share camp stories and lies. As time gets closer, we'll place it on the forum. Thank you all again.
