I personally do not travel with a FW tank full, I do keep a minimal amount in it for uses on the road. In a 178 it is in the rear of TT. Just added weight, just 300 lbs. As far as draining it is potable water, no issue. My own options. Not a fan of hauling unnecessary water, or black and gray tank fills.

it is fresh water so just drain it if you have to. normally,i fill my fresh water before leaving and drain when i get home.  it is fine to travel with water in the tank, so no real need to drain it.

bailey

fresh water drain is underneath on the tank.  yes, use a hose suitable for drinking water, which are usually white, but blue as well.  just check the label for potable water use.
